Visiting Timeline Arcade in York felt like stepping straight back into my teenage years!

As someone who went to high school and college in the 1980s, arcades were a big part of my upbringing and social life, so walking through the doors instantly stirred up a wave of nostalgia.

Places like this capture the sights, sounds, and excitement of the classic arcade era in a way that few modern venues can.

Directions & Hours
Timeline Arcade is located at 54 West Market Street, York, PA 17401.
The arcade is open daily from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, with extended late-night hours until 2:00 AM on Friday and Saturday.

What You’ll See at Timeline Arcade
Rows of classic arcade cabinets line the walls, featuring legendary titles like Dig Dug, Joust, Frogger, Robotron, and Karate Champ.

I also spotted favorites like NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II, and The Simpsons, many of which I spent countless quarters playing decades ago.

Racing and action games such as Crazy Taxi, Chase H.Q., and After Burner add even more variety to the experience.

Sci-fi themed machines like Star Wars Trilogy Arcade and Return of the Jedi bring a cinematic feel to the gaming floor.

There are also classic shooters like House of the Dead alongside unique attractions like the Hoop It Up basketball game.

One of my favorite sections featured a long row of pinball machines, including titles themed around Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic Park, and Ghostbusters.

Seeing these machines light up and hearing the familiar sounds of bumpers and bells instantly transported me back to the golden age of arcades.

The best part is that visitors simply pay a flat $10 per hour, or $25 for an all-day pass, and every game in the building is set to free play.

That means you can jump from cabinet to cabinet without ever worrying about feeding quarters into the machines.

Another highlight is the retro lounge area, where vintage televisions and classic game consoles sit in front of comfy old couches that look like they came straight out of the 1980s.

Final Thoughts
For anyone who grew up during the golden age of arcades, Timeline Arcade is an incredibly fun trip down memory lane.

Even if you didn’t, the sheer variety of classic games and the welcoming atmosphere make it one of the most entertaining places to visit in York.
