Exploring Darling Run Falls in Tioga County

Darling Run Falls in Tioga County Pennsylvania

Darling Run Falls is a small but attractive roadside waterfall in Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

Located in the Tioga State Forest, the falls are 0.6 miles upstream from where Darling Run passes under the Pine Creek Rail Trail.

So hiking upstream from the rail trail is certainly an option for seeing Darling Run Falls.

However, there is a much easier way.

How to Find Darling Run Falls in Tioga County

The easiest way to see Darling Run Falls is to simply pull off of Darling Run Road near the bridge above the falls and hike down to them.

The bridge can be found at GPS coordinates 41.72555, -77.41770.

The falls are 100 yards downstream from the bridge.

Standing on the bridge, facing downstream, hike down the left side of the stream to view Darling Run Falls.

Exploring the Falls

Darling Run Falls checks in at around 8 feet tall and maybe twice as wide when it’s running full-tilt.

A number of picturesque cascades below the falls add to the natural beauty of the scene.

Occasionally during a heavy rain event, a tall, intermittent waterfall emerges from the hillside just below Darling Run Falls.

If you continue to follow Darling Run downstream, it will bring you out at the Pine Creek Rail Trail in another half-mile.

While I wouldn’t call this a “destination waterfall” by any means, Darling Run Falls makes a quick and easy pit stop on your way to other Pine Creek Gorge locations.
