From the mild to the wild – the waterfalls in Tioga County PA are something to behold!
Tioga County, Pennsylvania is synonymous with the Pine Creek Gorge, AKA the PA Grand Canyon.
But feeding Pine Creek at the base of the gorge are hundreds of small streams, containing hundreds if not thousands of waterfalls great and small.
And while the sheer number of streams and waterfalls may seem overwhelming to would-be hikers and explorers, I’m going to help you out.
What I’m about to present you with is my hand-picked list of 35 must-see waterfalls in Tioga County PA.
Some are easy to get to, or nearly roadside.
Others present a challenge for even the most experienced hikers.

Whether you’re new to hiking, new to exploring the PA Grand Canyon, or a seasoned veteran, this guide is sure to entertain and educate you as you learn about some of the best waterfalls in Tioga County, PA!
Amphitheater Falls on Campbells Run, near Tiadaghton, is a 25-footer surrounded by an amphitheater of rock at least twice as high.
Bear Run Falls
Bear Run Falls is actually a series of 5 waterfalls located on Bear Run near Colton Point State Park.
The first one you’re likely to encounter on your hike downstream from Colton Road is shown above.
And the fifth, rarely seen in photos because getting below it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!
Bohen Run Falls
Bohen Run Falls is located 2 miles from Blackwell, along the aptly-named Bohen Trail.
Burdic Run Falls
Burdic Run Falls, just off the Seimons Trail, is a 60-foot tall waterfall that’s rarely seen or photographed, owing to the degree of difficulty descending to its base.
Campbells Run Falls
Campbells Run Falls near the Pine Creek Rail Trail’s Tiadaghton parking area is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in all of Tioga County.
Chimney Hollow Falls
Chimney Hollow Falls off of Owassee Road is one of the tallest waterfalls in the Pine Creek Gorge Natural Area.
Darling Run Falls
Darling Run Falls is a nearly-roadside waterfall, located just off Darling Run Road and Route 362.
Four Mile Run Falls
Four Mile Run Falls is a 20-footer located off trail, along Four Mile Run near Colton Point State Park.
Jerry Run Falls
Jerry Run Falls is located along the Bohen Trail near Blackwell, the same trail used to access to Bohen Run Falls.
Mine Hole Run Falls
Mine Hole Run Falls is a roadside waterfall located just off of Mine Hole Road, 2.5 miles north of Cedar Run.
Rexford Branch Falls
Rexford Branch Falls is located along the Turkey Path at Colton Point State Park.
Stone Quarry Run Falls
Stone Quarry Run Falls is an easy-to-reach waterfall along the Pine Creek Rail Trail near Blackwell.
Turkey Path Falls
The Turkey Path at Leonard Harrison Harrison State Park runs parallel to Little Four Mile Run (home to 4 waterfalls) as it winds its way to the bottom of the PA Grand Canyon, where it meets the Pine Creek Rail Trail.
The first waterfall you’ll encounter as you make your way down the Turkey Path (assuming you start at the top) is pictured above.
And the fourth falls, just above the Pine Creek Rail Trail.
Water Tank Hollow Falls
Water Tank Hollow Falls is located just off the Pine Creek Rail Trail, 2 miles north of Blackwell.
Sand Run Falls
Sand Run Falls is located approximately 1 mile from Landrus Road in the Tioga State Forest.
Babb Creek Falls
Babb Creek Falls is located just off the Mid State Trail in the Tioga State Forest.
Rattlesnake Run Falls
Rattlesnake Run Falls lies on a small tributary of Babb Creek, just off the Mid State Trail near Arnot.
Babb Creek Tributary Falls
This outstanding but unnamed waterfall lies on a tributary of Babb Creek, just downstream from Sand Run Falls in the Tioga State Forest.
Lick Creek Falls
Lick Creek Falls is a small roadside waterfall along Landrus Road near Arnot, in the Tioga State Forest.
Benjamin Hollow Falls
Benjamin Hollow Falls is located 3 miles north of Blackwell along the Pine Creek Rail Trail.
Pine Island Run Falls
Pine Island Run Falls is a multi-tiered beauty located 4 miles north of Blackwell along the Pine Creek Rail Trail.
Nickle Run Falls
Nickle Run Falls is located along a spur of the Mid State Trail in Tioga County.
Upper Fall Brook Falls
Upper Fall Brook Falls is approximately 12 feet tall and twice as wide, residing in eastern Tioga County near the coal mining ghost town of Fall Brook.
Lower Fall Brook Falls
Lower Fall Brook Falls is located just a few yards downstream from the aforementioned Upper Fall Brook Falls in the Tioga State Forest, and stand approximately 10 feet tall.
So there you have it!
A list of 35 must-see Tioga County PA waterfalls to either get you started, or expand your horizons, as you explore the nooks and crannies of the Pine Creek Gorge and its surroundings.
As with any hiking endeavor anywhere in PA (or anywhere in the world for that matter), come prepared with the proper gear, a solid plan, and common sense.
