If you’re looking for the best PA waterfalls for experiencing incredible fall foliage, you’re in the right place!
Follow along as I share with you 35 locations where you’ll find two of my favorite subjects to photograph – waterfalls and fall foliage!
I’ve plotted all 35 fall foliage waterfall destinations mentioned in this article on the map below, to make it as easy as possible for you to find and enjoy them.

The waterfalls are listed in alphabetical order, to make it easier for you to come back to this article later and find exactly which one/ones you may be looking for.
And please keep in mind that these photos were taken during optimal conditions, when both the amounts of water and fall foliage were at their peak – these conditions vary from year to year, so what may look spectacular one year may look less so the next.
The 35 Best PA Waterfalls for Fall Foliage Lovers
1. Amphitheatre Falls
Located in a remote, amphitheater-like setting, Amphitheatre Falls in Tioga County is an extraordinary fall foliage destination.
2. Bear Run Falls
Bear Run in Tioga County, near Colton Point State Park, is home to a series of waterfalls, all of which the avid hiker / fall foliage enthusiast will enjoy.
3. Big Falls
Located on State Game Lands 13 in Sullivan County, Big Falls makes you earn this view!
4. Big Run Falls
Big Run Falls may be the prettiest roadside waterfall in Sullivan County.
5. Bruner Run Falls
Located at Ohiopyle State Park, Bruner Run Falls is actually a series of waterfalls along this tributary of the Youghiogheny River in Fayette County.
6. Campbells Run Falls
Campbells Run Falls lies just a short distance from the Pine Creek Rail Trail in Tioga County.
7. Cascades on Meadow Run
The Cascades on Meadow Run are a series of waterfalls along the popular Meadow Run Trail at Ohiopyle State Park in Fayette County.
8. Cole Run Falls
Cole Run Falls is a popular roadside waterfall in Somerset County.
9. Cottonwood Falls
Cottonwood Falls is a short but pleasant hike when visiting Worlds End State Park in Sullivan County.
10. Cucumber Falls
Cucumber Falls in Fayette County is one of the most photographed waterfalls in all of western Pennsylvania!
11. Dry Run Falls
Dry Run Falls is a popular roadside waterfall and picnic spot in Sullivan County.
12. Dutters Run Falls
Dutters Run Falls is a series of waterfalls along a portion of the Loyalsock Trail in Sullivan County.
13. Fechter Run Falls
Fechter Run Falls is an elusive waterfall that lies on a tributary of Jonathan Run in Fayette County.
14. Four Mile Run Falls
Four Mile Run Falls is an off-trail waterfall in the Pine Creek Gorge Natural Area in Tioga County.
15. Grindstone Falls
Grindstone Falls is an exquisite fall foliage destination tucked away in a remote corner of McConnells Mill State Park in Lawrence County.
16. Jonathan Run Falls
Jonathan Run Falls in Fayette County is a series of waterfalls along what I consider to be the best waterfall hike in western Pennsylvania, the Jonathan Run Trail.
17. Jones Mill Run Dam
The only man-made “waterfall” I’ve included on this list, Jones Mill Run Dam at Laurel Hill State Park is an extremely popular fall foliage hike in the Laurel Highlands of Somerset County.
18. Ketchum Run Falls
Ketchum Run Falls is located along the Ketchum Run Trail in Sullivan County.
19. Lewis Falls
Lewis Falls in Sullivan County is one of my absolute favorite fall foliage destinations in all of Pennsylvania!
20. Miners Run Falls
Miners Run Falls is a series of 6 waterfalls in the McIntyre Wild Area in Lycoming County.
21. Ohiopyle Falls
Ohiopyle Falls in Fayette County is the centerpiece of fall foliage viewing at Ohiopyle State Park.
22. Pack Saddle Bridge
The waterfall beneath the Pack Saddle Bridge is one of the most recognizable symbols of Somerset County, and one of the premier fall foliage photo-ops as well.
23. Pigeon Run Falls
Pigeon Run Falls is a series of picturesque waterfalls along Pigeon Run in Sullivan County.
24. Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls is surrounded by radiant fall foliage every October in Huntingdon County.
25. Ricketts Glen
Of course the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen State Park, a place practically synonymous with PA waterfalls, offers up plenty of fall foliage photo-ops at the 21 named waterfalls along the trail in Luzerne County.
26. Round Island Run Falls
Round Island Run Falls is tucked away in a remote corner of the Sproul State Forest in Clinton County.
27. Rusty Run Falls
Rusty Run Falls is one of the less-frequently visited waterfalls near Worlds End State Park in Sullivan County.
28. Shanty Run Falls
Shanty Run Falls makes for a dazzling fall foliage scene in Sullivan County.
29. Sugar Run Falls
Sugar Run Falls is located just off the Great Allegheny Passage bike path in Fayette County.
30. Sullivan Falls
Sullivan Falls is perhaps the most-visited waterfall in all of Sullivan County.
31. Table Falls
Table Falls is one of the prettiest small waterfalls in the Elk County portion of the Quehanna Wild Area.
32. Turkey Path Falls
The Turkey Path at Leonard Harrison State Park is a one-mile hike to numerous waterfalls along Little Fourmile Run in Tioga County.
33. Upper Twin Falls
Upper Twin Falls is a magical spot on State Game Lands 13 in Sullivan County.
34. Vinegar Run Falls
Vinegar Run Falls is a roadside waterfall along Route 154 near Worlds End State Park in Sullivan County.
35. Yost Run Falls
Yost Run Falls is located along the popular Chuck Keiper Trail in Centre County.
